Would you like to get paid to go shopping? Do you like to eat out, go to the movies, buy flowers, play golf? Mystery shopping is used by hundreds of well-known businesses to ensure consistent, top quality service from their employees. It is a fantastic way for you to earn money and have fun at the same time, doing what you love to do. Mystery shoppers receive assignments from companies that do business evaluations and you could become one of them. Learn how mystery shopping works, what types of forms are used, do’s and don’ts of completing assignments, and how to get in the “shoppers” network. Participants can participate in a practice shop during lunch break. A $20 materials fee for a comprehensive workbook is payable at the workshop.

When you complete this program, you will read three to four times faster in novels, newspapers, and most business and school materials.  In more difficult reading, like technical journals or college textbooks, you’ll read two to three times faster.  The comprehension, concentration, and retention techniques you learn will enable you to remember more and virtually eliminate re-reading.  Participants in our adult speed reading program receive lifetime repeat privileges, which means you may repeat the speed reading program at any time, for free.  This program is designed for participants entering 12th grade through adult.  There will be a $23 materials fee.

Beginning Guitar
This workshop is an introduction to basic chords, melodies, note reading, tuning and styles of performance for the beginning participant.  It is designed to utilize the guitar as a lifelong learning tool.  This workshop is open to all. No previous experience is required. Participants must furnish their own guitar.  A $15 fee for the book is payable at the first meeting.

Presenter: Tom Hernandez - He retired from GWC in 2004 where he taught for 37 years.  He directed the International Symphonic Band, culminating with a performance at the Vatican for Pope John Paul II in 2001.  Along with teaching Basic Music and Beginning Guitar, he authored his own guitar book utilizing his style of teaching.  He continues to conduct band abroad and performs on his trumpet throughout the area.
